Last month we found ourselves at yet another incredible festival nestled in the mountains of western North Carolina: Soulshine Farm Festival. The weather was beautiful, the people were friendly and loving, and the music was fun as all get-out. I don't know how we keep getting this lucky, but I hope it keeps happening!
Soulshine is a small, but super well-organized and fun festival. We arrived Thursday morning to set up our booth, and festival-goers started to stream in that afternoon. Our booth was weather-proofed for a stormy forecast which luckily turned out to be incorrect.
We got to meet a ton of festival-goers who were thrilled to find last-minute essentials at our booth. Plus, we were right down the road from a stage and could hear the music all day!
Soulshine was in its third year, but it felt like it had been around much longer. The sense of community at this festival was really amazing - there was obviously a big group of people that put their heart and soul into making it happen. It really felt like an event that had grown organically from a group of friends just coming together to have fun.
Here are some highlights from the festival:
Praying Mantis Puppet Show!
Awesome Hippie Art Bus
OB-1K lays down a set
Kendra Warren & Brian Hill doing a late-night jam session
The Screaming J's round out the party
